Afro fusion dance workshop.Afro Fusion is a style of dance that blends traditional African dance movements with Urban dance styles.We focus on a genre and musical compositional form, Afro fusion dance incorporates traditional African music, alternative music as well as Afro pop, blending various genres in an experimental crossover-like styles: Hiphop ,dancehall and more.Afro dance, refers to the various dance styles of sub-Saharan Africa and east Africa. These dances are closely connected with the traditional rhythms and music traditions of the region. Afro Music and afro dance is an integral part of many traditional African societies.
Kabaka Arafat comes from originally from Uganda. “Dancing is a part of me. Over the years i have experienced that this is my shining light. It made me win many dance competitions in my home country. When i became 16 i won the biggest of all: “The NTV Uganda Hot steps”. It was broadcasted on TV for 5 months. By winning this competition i was given 5 million Ugandan shillings. This event changed my whole dancing experience: i became known and so i was asked to travel to many countries all over the world. To perform or to give workshops”. Now he’s starting a new journey in Alphen aan den Rijn, to empower the Afro dance movement for all people. His dream is that people from different cultures, tribes and nationalities come together to activate our creativity together as a new world.
“Dancing has been a light in self development and (spiritual) healing for others and myself. It has also been a weapon in understanding the world language of creativity and motivation. Through dancing i met and helped a lot of people. By teaching i boost their creativity and self confidence. It gives me a lot of joy, to see people expanding in confidence and exploring their talent.”
